Welcome! Our family has enjoyed this home and Manasota Key. in Sarasota county, for the past 39 years. This home was originally 3/2/2 but with 7 occupants changes were made. There are 5 bedrooms, one of which has been used as our office, also the added Family room was initially built as a possible in-law suite with private entrance and ensuite bath. It remains the Family room and is perfect for entertaining. New roof, new screening and aluminum framing on lanai. All hurricane windows and those facing beach have turtle coating. Turtles rule from May-Oct. it is an amazing site to see Mama on the beach, then when time comes to witness the parade of the little ones to the water. The Turtle Patrol are very informative and hard working volunteers. The natural reef out back is ideal for snorkeling and the fishing is the best. You can see the shaded reef area on the aerial photo. Enjoy the shelling and shark teeth that you will automatically gravitate to once you spot the first one. The weather can be a concern wherever you live, here we might have storms that bring decisions to be made. Be prepared to leave home for a hotel 5 miles away and return when it is over. The house has protected us well however we have had to replace sand, which is a maintenance expense that can be recurring. If I were to do it again I would buy a used John Deere small riding mower with a scoop front to move my plants, mulch and sand to where I wanted it. They are fun to drive and I think would be very helpful with the size yard you have. The room that is most enjoyed is probably the lanai. The best seat in the house for breakfast, lunch and dinner, rain or shine it can be very calming, food tastes better, conversation or silence is more profound. Watch the birds, dolphins, sunsets, your own private show.
An advantage to this property is that it is large enough for you to enjoy the current home but when the itch to build strikes, you can locate a new home on the property and live in current home while building then take down the ranch, never having to leave the property It's a great place to live.
